Company was the only banana producer and exporter to receive an award at the Talent Summit Ecuador 2025
Reybanpac has been recognised as one of Ecuador’s largest employers at the recent Talent Summit Ecuador 2025, organised by Ekos Magazine and Great Place to Work Ecuador.
Reybanpac ranked 8th for its contribution to employment generation at the national level and was the only banana producer and exporter on the list. The company said the recognition reflects its strong commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, related to decent work and economic growth.
Currently, the company employs more than 6,000 men and women, 85 per cent of whom are agricultural personnel residing in areas close to our operations. The company said this reflects its commitment to the development of rural communities and their people.
“For the economic growth of agribusiness to be sustainable, Reybanpac is also aware of the need to provide tools so that people can develop professionally and improve their quality of life and that of their environment,” it stated. “For this reason, the company has implemented training programmes for both internal and external workers, with a technical and practical focus, to strengthen the acquisition of skills and knowledge linked to real situations in the productive environment.”
This includes the Agrofuturo programme, developed jointly with the Wong Foundation, which seeks to strengthen the agricultural technical training of adolescents and young people between 15 and 29 years of age in rural areas, providing tools and opportunities for their early access to the local labour market.
Likewise, through the Reybanpac Center of Excellence (CER), the company’s employees are trained for administrative and agricultural positions to promote their professional growth and continuous improvement in processes.
Receiving the award, Leonardo Viteri, Reybanpac’s vice president of corporate affairs, commented: “At Reybanpac, we will remain committed to creating decent work and economic growth through opportunities, constantly ensuring the professional growth of our team and contributing to the employability of young people in rural areas by providing them with the technical skills necessary to develop in the sector”.
