Rewe supermarkets in Germany have made an extended round of price cuts, reducing the selling price of more than 2,500 products at a large number of stores.
According to Planet Retail, quoting Lebensmittel Zeitung, the first round of cuts began without promotion on 16 August, with further, more significant cuts taking place this week.
The move is part of Rewe's strategy to dispel consumers' high-price perception of Rewe supermarkets, the German publication noted.
