German retailer Rewe is looking to invest some €1.5bn in revamping its stores and boosting its online presence, accorsing to the group's chief executive Alain Caparros.
In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, reported by Reuters, Caparros said the move was to help in the battle against the rise of online retail.
The CEO also said that Rewe would be focusing on expanding its Romanian business over the next two years.
