A new, free Apple application has been released by the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) to provide consumers with easy access to information about fresh fruits and vegetables.
The tool is designed to promote CPMA’s Mix it up! Scheme, a social marketing initiative which focuses on helping Canadians of all ages to eat more fruits and vegetables to improve their health, according to a press release from the organisation.
Consumers can use the app to find useful storage and preparation tips for produce, download recipes and search produce by name or four-digit Price Look-Up (PLU) numbers.
The app is available for iPhones, iPod Touch and iPad devices and was developed by Ottawa-based Industrial Media.
