Piazza Italia 2012 Fruit Logistica

Some of the leading companies in Italy's fresh fruit and vegetable sector is gearing up to present the very best of their products and services to the industry at next month's Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin, Germany.

Many of them will be present on the traditional Piazza Italia stand, which will seek to underline the Italian trade's commitment to 'Nature, culture, passion and quality'.

'It is through this extraordinary mix of territory, culture, passion and quality that Italy had reached a position of leadership in the European fresh produce trade, with a full range which today amounts to more than 35m tonnes of product,' said a spokesperson for marketing and research agency Centro Servizi Ortofrutticoli, which manages the Piazza Italia stand.

This year, the piazza will be home to 29 leading fresh produce companies, as well as a small number of packaging and machinery firms and other service providers.

It will also play host to a number of key industry appointments, including a meeting of the International Kiwifruit Organization.

According to the spokesperson, the stand's design will have a particularly Italian flavour in 2012 and provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere in which company representatives can meet and do business with existing and new contacts.

Those visiting the stand will be able to sample a number of Italy's national grastronomic specialities.
