Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market

The Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market (PWPM) has announced in a press release the launch of a new and improved website, ahead of the new facility’s scheduled opening in January 2011.

PWPM.net showcases the new facility’s floor plan, which is home to 26 merchants offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables including local, organic, imported and convention products.

“The new and improved website allows existing and potential customers to peruse the market virtually and plan their next visit with a more user-friendly approach,” said Sonny DiCrecchio, PWPM’s president and CEO.

During the New York Produce Show and Conference on 11 November delegates will be invited to tour the new PWPM facility in Philadelphia, PA.

Guests will be guided through the 700,000ft2 facility to experience first-hand the variety of merchant display units, best in class cooling facilities, and maximised loading and logistics areas surrounding the building.

“This is truly the perfect time to tour the new PWPM facility,” said Dan Kane, PWPM assistant manager. “We are in the process of putting the final touches on the facility so that we can stay on target for a January 2011 move in and grand opening.”

Equipped with technologically advanced cooling systems and efficiencies, the new PWPM will be able to maintain the cold chain more effectively and thereby supply fresher products with a longer shelf-life.
