PBH new website

The Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) has announced in a press release the debut of a new look and new feature to their consumer website, which was first launched on 19 March 2007.

The new Fruit & Vegetable Daily News page offers a running list of the latest news stories on fruit and vegetable research, policy andhealth news, while an updated look to the bottom of the homepage, and elsewhere on the site, makes for easier navigation and gets website visitors to the information they want more quickly.

PBH said its bi-weekly e-newsletter also has a new look and a new name – the Fruit & Veggie Voice – and the site’s Insider’s Viewpoint and About the Buzz sections will now be updated more frequently.

“Fruits and vegetables make the news every day, and now it’s easy to keep up with all the latest just by visiting the new Fruit & Vegetable Daily News page on the Fruits & Veggies –More Matters website,” the organisation said.

“This fresh format makes finding the tips, recipes, shopping and meal planning advice, kids’ activities, top ten lists and other areas of the website even more convenient for website visitors.”

Links to the Fruits & Veggies – More Matters Twitter and Facebook pages are also more prominent, encouraging site visitors to follow the health initiative in these social media arenas as well.

New columns of the Insider’s Viewpoint: Expert Supermarket Advice (written by supermarkets to offer tips and information to help consumers eat more fruits and vegetables) will now be posted every week on Tuesdays.

PBH’s free, bi-weekly Fruits & Veggies – More Matters e-newsletter has also been updated, sporting a new look, a new name, Fruit & Veggie Voice, and a new leading teaser tied to PBH’s mission, Get the Scoop. Stay Smart about Your Family’s Health.

As always, the newsletter will highlight popular and new areas of the Fruits & Veggies –More Matters website and include a current topic of interest devised to resonate with the targeted audience.

“This exciting new online content offers added value for consumer website visitors,” said Elizabeth Pivonka, president and CEO of PBH.

“The Fruits & Veggies-More Matters website is continually updated by developing more content and features to keep our audience coming back for more, increasing its value to consumers, and thus donors.”

Ms Pivonka says that PBH donors can help make the Fruits & Veggies – More Matters website even more valuable and dynamic by linking to it from their companies’ or organisations’ website.

“Donors should feel free to talk about the website updates on their own Facebook pages, in their own blogs, and to tweet about it on Twitter,” added Ms Pivonka. “Encourage everyone you communicate with to check out the changes!”
