Fresh produce company SanLucar is running a special Paddington bear promotion on bags of oranges sold in Germany to tie in with the forthcoming release of a feature film about the eponymous Peruvian.
During December, the special packs of Spanish citrus will carry images of Paddington, and the company is inviting consumers to cut out a picture of the bear from the bag's label, stick it to a postcard from somewhere in the world and send it to the SanLucar office.
One lucky consumer taking part in the competition will win a family trip to London, where Paddington has lived ever since his arduous journey from Lima in 1958.
Ten other participants will be given special packs containing a stuffed toy Paddington, the film’s soundtrack and a poster.
Paddington, who was named after Paddington station in London, is a renowned fan of marmalade, making him a more than suitable celebrity to endorse sales of fresh citrus.
