This week, the first Ripe Food Market is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at the Dubai Garden Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.
The weekly market will reportedly offer exclusively organic products, with all fresh produce locally grown, seasonal, organic and hand-picked within the previous 48 hours.
'It's all about getting back to basics by growing local, eating local and supporting local,' Becky Balderstone told The National newspaper. 'Ripe is passionate about fresh, healthy and local produce to spread the benefits of going organic.'
The company works with three farms close to Al Ain and Abu Dhabi city, and has revealed plans to begin trials of produce from other farms in the region.
Another Ripe Food Market is scheduled to be launched on 18 November in the Desert Garden Centre in Khalifa Park.
