Austria’s biggest grower group for topfruit and plums has launched an advertising campaign on wheels, cladding public buses with a green advert for its “fresh, juicy, Styrian” apple brand.
The “fruity” bus advert from Obst Partner Steiermark (OPST), which features a young boy and a woman enjoying the cooperative’s apples, will appear on buses belonging to public transport provider, Austrian Federal Railway (öBB).
The vehicles will be marked with the producer’s brand, 'frisch-saftig-Steirisch' (“fresh, juicy, Styrian”), which markets Opst apples from the southeast Austrian state of Styria.
“I think that apples and buses go well together,” said the company’s marketing manager Franz Schaden, who hopes to collaborate with öBB on future advertising campaigns. “Apples are a healthy product that make a brilliant snack on a bus journey.”
He added: “For me the branded buses are moving billboards and they give people a positive surprise.”
OPST is Austria’s largest recognised producer organisation for apples, pears and plums and produces 130,000 tonnes of apples a year. Its apple varieties include Elstar, Idared, Golden Delicious and Gala.
