Italian apple marketer the Val Venosta Apple Consortium has opened a new line of communication with the general public with the launch of a new blog designed to engage with consumers and offer them information about all aspects of the region's fresh apples.

The new website will contain news, recipe ideas, competitions, videos, photo galleries, health tips, and links to other useful places on the internet.

'The blog has been conceived as an area to share, where users can exchange ideas, advice, emotions and experiences,' said a spokesperson for the Val Venosta brand.

'It's a top-level interactive tool because the consumer will get immediate feedback on the various and many Val Venosta Apple initiatives.'

According to the blog's creators, web-based services such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter have become 'indispensable' for a society in which communication via social, mobile media is both fundamental and fast-paced.'

In terms of the blog's multimedia content, the site will present a number of videos including interviews with some of the consortium's main players, as well as documentaries showing the apple's production cycle from blossoming to its arrival on the consumer's table.

'This will give the consumer a chance to see the journey this product makes for real,' added the spokesperson.

On Facebook, meanwhile, the consortium has created a page dedicated to Val Venosta apples which will be kept updated with details of related events.
