Four Spanish tomato producers have joined forces to grow and market one of Spain’s newest tomato brands.
On 5 October, Unica, Biosabor, Casi and La Palma created the Verdita alliance to consolidate the presence of Adora, the Marmande tomato brand developed by HM Clause, on the European market.
They described the venture is a “revolutionary concept of sustainable production based on quality and excellence”, which was in line with the philosophy of these four leading companies in the fresh produce sector.
“Verdita brings together the resources and experience of these large export companies that have a consolidated track record in the markets,” the companies said in a press release.
“By developing joint quality, production, traceability and marketing strategies, they will create greater efficiencies.”
Launched in 2017, Adora is a brownish ribbed tomato with a fleshy, firm texture that its developers describe as having “a powerful flavour and aroma that bring to mind a traditional tomato”.
