Certification honours companies for their commitment to women’s equality and development

Spanish avocado specialist Montosa has been awarded the MujerAGRO seal, a certification that distinguishes companies that apply active equality policies in the workplace.

This recognition, promoted by the Ministry of Equality, is awarded to companies that carry out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) actions, have an equality plan and guarantee a female representation of at least 50 per cent in their workforce or a minimum of 30 per cent of their management team.

Currently, women represent 52.7 per cent of the workforce, which the company said reflects a process of continuous improvement, with the aim of further strengthening equal opportunities. Although in some areas they already stand out in numbers, the company continues to actively work to reduce gaps and foster a fully inclusive environment.

To this end, Montosa has designed an equality plan based on eight strategic objectives, with the aim of guaranteeing equity at all levels of the company: balance in the representation of women and men; professional classification without gender bias; equality training for the entire workforce; leadership opportunities for women; access to work-life balance; occupational health protection; pay equity; and inclusive and non-sexist communication in all corporate media.

Carolina Sanjuan, head of human resources, said: “We have established an equality committee, made up of equal representation of management and staff. This committee will constantly monitor progress, evaluate the results and adjust measures when necessary to ensure that Montosa continues to reduce gender gaps effectively”.

In addition to the support of having the MujerAGRO seal, Montosa joins a network of companies that are committed to a more equitable future, which give space to constant exchange of experiences with other companies in the sector, plus mutual growth under good corporate practices.

As part of this commitment, the brand will be a sponsor of the MujerAGRO 2025 Forum, which will be held on 29 May in Ciudad Real. This meeting, focused on dialogue and collaboration, reinforces the construction of a more equitable agri-food sector and recognises companies that take action to achieve real change.

The event will bring together leading companies in equality and will take place in person, with a live broadcast through Siete Agro Marketing’s YouTube channel, thus facilitating open access to the conversation about the future of the sector.

“With these actions, Montosa is committed to a more equitable and inclusive work model, with concrete measures that allow its commitment to be transformed into real and sustainable results,” the company said.
