Mexico Supreme Quality

Mexico Calidad Suprema (MCS), the national certification scheme for the Mexican agriculture industry, will visit the US next month on its global marketing tour.

The trade mission will take place on 4 August in McAllen, Texas, one of the largest entry points for Mexican fresh fruits and vegetables in the US, MCS told Fruitnet.com.

The visit is designed to provide the organisation with an opportunity to present the MCS programme to buyers and importers in McAllen, and thereby raise awareness and boost exports of Mexican produce.

With the support of the Mexican Consulate in McAllen, the McAllen Produce Terminal Market and the Chamber of Commerce in McAllen, MCS will communicate the significant steps made by the association to certify growers, packers and suppliers under MexicoGAP – the agricultural standard benchmarked against GlobalGAP and SQF.

The presentation will take place in the Conference Room of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce at 13.30 on Thursday 4 August in the presence of Consul Erasmo Martínez.

MCS will also use the occasion to invite McAllen-based food buyers, importers and wholesalers to come to Mexico to visit certified farms and food processing facilities as part of the group’s promotional trade mission for US importers in August/September.
