Reports in Slovenia have revealed that the five-member management of Slovenian retailer Mercator has resigned after disagreements with company owners.
According to Reuters, Mercator said the conflict had arisen because of a perceived lack of confidence in the management team.
'The reason for the resignation is a lack of confidence of the bigger owners (in the management),' spokesperson Mojca Briscik told the news agency.
Problems reportedly began last year, when the retailer's owners – including local banks and investment companies – clashed over the management's decision to block due diligence that would have allowed the sales of a majority share in the group to Croatian group Agrokor.
