Food & Beverage Executive Magazine recently announced its 2010 Innovation Award Winners including Ontario-based Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET which took top honors with the Kid-Friendly Produce Innovations Award for its emphasis on flavour, unique size, shape, and affordability.
“We continue our worldwide research and development each year of unique, flavourful, gourmet tomatoes,” said Paul Mastronardi, group president. “It is with great pleasure that we accept this Innovation Award as the leading innovator for 2010 for Kid-Friendly produce.”
“Each year, Food & Beverage Executive Magazine honors the leaders in their respective industries as innovators, added Gerard Vander Schauw, publisher of Food & Beverage Executive.
“We are pleased to award Mastronardi for their innovation in kid-friendly produce with particular emphasis on flavour, unique size, shape, and affordability,” concluded Mr Vander Schauw.
A panel of judges within Food & Beverage Executive dedicated a month to research products, features, and designs that have gone above and beyond expectations in innovation within their category in the past year.
Among some of the nationally recognised tomatoes grown and marketed by Mastronardi under its SUNSET brand are: the Campari cocktail tomato, Splendido grape tomato, Kumato Brown tomato, One Sweet cherry tomatoes, and gourmet medley tomatoes, among others.
