Manfred Krautter, campaign and issues director at Greenpeace Germany, has announced he plans to leave the organisation and set up his own environmental and social sustainability consultancy.
Mr Krautter, who spent 18 years at Greenpeace working on a number of campaigns – most notably those focused on reducing the amount of pesticides used in the production of fresh fruit and vegetables, will formally establish EcoAid on 4 August.
The consultancy group will work with other companies in a number of areas, including risk prevention and product safety in food and consumer products, product sustainability and corporate social responsibility optimisation, and sustainability marketing and communications.
Mr Krautter has worked closely with the European fresh fruit and vegetable sector over the past few years, bringing issues relating to environmental sustainability to the attention of retailers and suppliers.
'I thank you sincerely for the good and fair cooperation we have had all these years,' Mr Krautter added.
