The 28th edition of Macfrut, which took place in Cesena on 5-7 October, saw the now annual Macfrut Oscars handed out to companies offering cutting edge, innovative products to the sector.
Taking place on the final day, the awards were spread across four different categories, with a total of 18 nominations submitted and a panel of experts choosing their favourite innovation.
The winner in the Machines and Technologies for Selection and Packaging category was Best Sorting's Genius optical laser sorter, while Polymer Logistics' Dynamic Shipper walked away with the award in the Packaging and Packaging Materials category.
In the Seeds and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Products category, the Fresh market tomato from ISI Sementi was given the Oscar, while Tectronik's Senzytec 2 ethanol analyser won the day in the Logistics and Services category.
The top prize, meanwhile, which is decided by votes cast by visitors to Macfrut and the show's exhibitors, went to Sorma Group.
