French apple campaign Le Crunch yesterday kicked off a new UK promotion aimed at boosting wholesale market sales.
This week, Le Crunch ambassadors are set to visit 10 wholesale markets across the UK in order to inform traders that sell French apples, or have an interest in doing so, about the promotion.
The promotion will run from the end of October until the end of April, according to Le Crunch.
Based on the number of pallets they purchase during this period, wholesalers will be able to claim prizes including remote control cars, fleeces, hats and golf accessories.
Each wholesaler that reaches the maximum claim target of 15 pallets will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury weekend trip to Paris for two.
'The UK is France’s biggest export market, so it’s important to continue to invest with our trusted partners in the trade,' said Daniel Corbel, co-president of Interfel’s external market commission. 'The wholesale markets are the first point of contact for many of our producers, therefore we are delighted to be able to run this activity and support their sales of French apples during the 2010/11 campaign.'
