The port of Koper has said that the Egyptian table grape industry has experienced 'challenges' at the start of the campaign, but has said that the season is looking 'very promising' at this stage.
The Slovenian port noted that the first shipment of 20 containers left Damietta for Koper today (11 May), with early indications of an increased volume of 10 per cent year-on-year.
Koper is facing challenges of its own, much like many global ports, given the global shortage of containers and limited space availability on ships.
However, the port is put a positive spin on proceedings, noting: 'We all are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.'
