The European Flavors initiative is continuing its campaign to promote the quality and taste of Europe-grown fresh fruit and vegetables to markets across the world, with the US next on the agenda.
Thepromotional effort, which isfinanced by the EU, the Italian government and the Italian marketing and trade organisation CSO, heads to Anaheim, California on the 26-28 October, to make its presence felt at the PMA Fresh Summit – one of the key events in the North American fresh produce calendar.
'This is a vitally important market for European fresh produce, with exports notable for both volume and value – over 18,000 tonnes of high-quality fresh and processed goods were exported to the US in 2011,' the campaign organisers stated.
The US will also host the last date in the European Flavors calendar this year, with California the setting for the Winter Fancy Food event on 20-22 January.
European Flavors was most recently on display at World Food Moscow in Russia, where it offered visitors the opportunity to meet with several major Italian fresh produce organisations, including Apofruit, Alegra, Granfrutta Zani, Mazzoni, Naturitalia, Opo Veneto, Orogel Fresco, Pempacorer and Salvi.
