Consorzio Kiwigold, which markets green- and gold-fleshed kiwifruit under the Jingold brand in several markets worldwide, will underline its ability to offer a premium product with optimum quality and ripeness during the course of next year's Fruit Logistica trade exhibition in Berlin.
“Our aim is to meet existing customers as well as to give new customers an opportunity to taste our gold and green Jingold kiwifruit,” says Alessandro Fornari, the company's director.
“Jingold remains an innovation in itself, both in terms of the product as well as in terms of the company’s organisation and marketing strategies,” Mr Fornari tells Eurofruit Magazine.
In its booth in Piazza Italia, the group will show a video entitled ‘A day with Jingold’, illustrating the entire process involved in producing Jingold, from field to fork.
“We will approach the exhibition by trying to offer a better idea of what our organisation represents and why we are promoting ourselves as the ‘kiwifruit specialist’.”
Exhibiting at the show makes perfect sense for a company which makes more than two-thirds of its European sales to customers in Germany.
“The European market is our main market, and Germany is 70 per cent of this market,” confirms Mr Fornari.
“Our main German and European customers participate in the exhibition, which takes place right in the middle of the kiwifruit season. So it is a big opportunity to assess our first sales experiences and to face the second part of the season, as well as looking forward to planning sales of Jingold production from Chile, coming in May.”
During the last year, Consorzio Kiwigold has put a significant amount of effort into further developing production of Jingold Green, a premium selection of Hayward kiwifruit, Mr Fornari adds.
“For the best experience in terms of consumption, we offer this at the right point of ripeness by testing the fruit with NIR technology and guaranteeing dry matter, sugar level and ripeness.”
