With the 2009/10 US apple season already underway, Imagination Farms has announced in a press release the addition of a new apple supplier, FirstFruits Marketing of Yakima, WA, to its growing list of sources.
“During the past three seasons we have experienced incremental growth in our apple program, driven by our successful year-round programs and exciting special promotions,” commented Matthew Caito, CEO of Imagination Farms.
“The addition of FirstFruits as a new supplier to the Disney Garden program will allow us to increase our sales reach and touch more consumers, complementing our mission to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables among children.
“FirstFruits’ commitment to socially responsible programs as well as their growing and post-harvest handling procedures make them a positive addition to our supplier line-up. They will complement our existing programs with Chelan and L&M.”
Embola Ndi, vice-president of Food, Health & Beauty for Disney Consumer Products North America, said the group is pleased to offer Disney Garden fresh fruit options for parents looking for healthier options.
“Imagination Farms and our suppliers provide a great selection of wholesome products to consumers nationwide,” Mr Ndi said. “The Disney Garden program supports Disney’s commitment to providing healthy snacking and food alternatives for children. All Disney Garden products follow Disney’s guidelines for calories, fat, saturated fat and sugar content.”
Andy Tudor, marketing manager at FirstFruits remarked: “My experience with the Disney program has been overwhelmingly positive and I’ve seen the power of the brand to drive sales and get kids excited about apples. We are looking forward to rolling out new programs and promotions for both conventional and organic products in the Disney Garden line.”
Disney Garden apples and special promotions from FirstFruits and other Disney Garden apple suppliers, including Chelan Fresh and L&M, will be available shortly.
