Andalusian fresh produce marketing organisation Hortyfrutahas held meetings with representatives from leading German retailers to discusspossible joint promotions that could be staged in the country over the comingseasons.

Hortyfruta’s managing director, María José Pardo, met withmajor retailers Rewe and Lidl last week in the cities of Cologne and Dortmundto analyse ways that the interprofessional group could organise futurepromotional campaigns in Germany.

The prime objective for Hortyfruta is that fruit andvegetables sourced from Andalusia are clearly identified in retail outlets, using its Lola brand, ashaving come from the Spanish region, Ms Pardo said in a statement.

Hortyfruta added that it highlighted to retailers the “greenrevolution” that was taking place in Andalusia, with biological pest controlsreplacing conventional methods, while possibilities for joint promotionalcampaigns were also explored.
