The Hass Avocado Board has unveiled its new marketing drive to promote the health benefits of regular avocado consumption. The Love One Today campaign, which seeks to encourage Americans to include fresh Hass avocados in their daily diet, was unveiled at last months’ Food and Nutrition Conference Expo (FNCE) in Houston. It will run over a number of years, the board said.
Since 2011, HAB has made significant investment in research into nutrition, with several studies in progress focusing on four key pillars: heart health, weight management, Type 2 diabetes and healthy living. The board says regular avocado consumption can help Americans to increase their intake of unsaturated fat to levels that match the traditional Mediterranean diet.
“HAB’s presence at FNCE provided a great opportunity to update health professionals and influencers on the progress of our nutrition and research programme and heighten awareness of the many nutritional benefits of avocados,’ said Emiliano Escobedo, the board’s executive director.
