Frontera Produce has announced in a press release the launch of a new consumer-focused website dedicated to melons.
The vertically integrated US grower-packer-shipper of fresh produce, which is headquartered in south Texas, said connecting directly with consumers has always been a primary focus.
“Our new Melon Mania website showcases our full line-up of melons: honeydew, watermelon and cantaloupe,” explained Amy Gates, executive vice-president for Frontera Produce.
“We wanted to provide all the ‘not always easily accessible’ and non-traditional information about melons in a bright, fun and very consumer-friendly package.”
According to Frontera, the new site highlights peak growing seasons, tips on picking the perfect melons, and custom recipes from Frontera’s own executive chef, Michelle Gonsalves.
The group also claims to speak to consumers daily on the Frontera Produce Facebook fan page and through the company’s Twitter account, ?fronterafresh.
“We’re excited that, in addition to our other digital outreach, this new site will capture and take advantage of the excitement that consumers have about these delicious, fresh melons,” said Will Steele, Frontera’s president and CEO.
“By making product information readily available to and fun for consumers, we anticipate increased consumption, which translates into sales growth for our customers.”
Founded in 1993, Frontera operates extensive growing operations throughout the US as well as Mexico, Central and South America.
The group offers an extensive line of fresh products including, onions, cabbage, golden pineapples, fresh chilli peppers, carrots, coriander (cilantro), melons, and other tropical fruits.
