With the New Zealand Jazz apple crop approaching the end of its season in week 41, southeastern France is readying itself to take over, according to Enzafruit, and the company has revealed that it anticipates 'exceptional' quality this season.
After southeastern France, the southwest takes over, followed finally by the Loire valley region.
Despite some unfavourable weather conditions, which have caused a drop in volumes in Europe, Enzafruit has forecast an increase of 10 per cent for this season's Jazz crop, to some 14,000 tonnes.
A number of promotional activities have been planned during the French season, according to Enzafruit, including Jazz tastings in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany, and appearances at various fairs.
