French interprofessional organisation Interfel is organising a roadshow dubbed Fraich'kids, co-financed by FranceAgriMer and designed to increase the appeal of fruit and vegetables to French school children during the school break.
Interfel dietician Johanna Bedouard revealed that the idea was to educate and inform the children in a fun way.
'We teach them to clean then cut the vegetables, before eating them and sharing them, all while singing and dancing,' she said. 'Next they get to taste them and then play games.'
According to Morgan Antonutti, general manager of the operation, the aim is to show the children how accessible fruit and vegetables are, and how quick and easy they are to prepare.
The roadshow, which is scheduled to last five weeks, kicked off last week in the north of the country, in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, and was then set to head to Paris.
