Foods from Spain winner 2010

Foods from Spain has revealed the winner of its 2010 National Primary Schools Competition, which runs annually to support its promotional push for Spanish fresh produce in the UK.

This year's competition, which launched in April, asked classes in school years three to six at all UK primary schools to produce a collage that represented 'healthy eating with fresh fruits and vegetables from Spain'.

Children from Manor Primary School is Sutton Coldfield, central England, won the competition with their 'Eat 5 a day, live the Spanish way!' collage, showing a collection of Spanish fruits, vegetables, portraits, images and recipes.

'Our National Primary Schools Competition is part of Foods from Spain's ongoing campaign to promote the seasons and eating quality of Spanish fresh produce,' said María José Sevilla, director of Foods from Spain.

The winning school landed a £2,000 first prize following judging by representatives from the London International Gallery of Children's Art and the editor of National Geographic Kids magazine.

Foods from Spain is part of the Spanish Commercial Office at the Spanish Embassy.
