German retailer Rewe has announced that it achieved overall growth in group sales of 2.9 per cent for 2013, rising to €50.6bn.
IGD Retail Analysis reported that domestic sales had increased 2.9 per cent to €36.2bn, while sales in the group's international markets also climbed 2.9 per cent, up to €14.4bn.
According to CEO Alain Caparros, the positive results were the result of high investments in orgainc expansion of Rewe's distribution network, as well as new sales concepts.
