Isla Bonita, a tropical fruit brand marketed by leading Spanish fresh produce company Eurobanan, has reportedly attracted more than 6,000 followers on Facebook and, according to the company, has generated a considerable amount of interest on other social networks.
Marking the milestone on 3 June, the Madrid-based company said the brand had been able to achieve a strong following not only on Facebook but also on Twitter and via blogs by offering plenty of up-to-date information for consumers about their favourite fruits.
'These profile pages, linked to Eurobanan's official YouTube channel, have allowed us to create dynamic, quality content that helps enhance the image and positioning of the brand,' said a spokesperson for the company.
The group's investment in social media has seen it publish a broad range of items via such channels, including recipes, tips and trivia, as well as running competitions for consumers and, all the while, promoting its Isla Bonita range.
'This direct communication already has the backing of more than 320 followers on Twitter and over 6,000 on Facebook, and it gives us the opportunity to gauge first-hand opinions and consumer acceptance of our tropical fruit.'
