A shortlist of three designs has been announced for the EU organic logo competition, after over 3,400 art and design students from all 27 EU Member States participated in the contest.
The winning design will be selected through an online public vote, which starts at the end of this year and runs until 31 January, with an award ceremony being held in Brussels next summer.
The new logo will be introduced throughout the EU in July 2010. Contrary to the existing EU organic logo, which is voluntary, the new logo will be compulsory for all pre-packaged organic products originating in the 27 Member States.
