Dutch seed specialist Enza Zaden held a special event in Almería last week to showcase its latest offerings for the European market and discuss some of the biggest trends in the industry.
Among the products on display at House Fair Spain were the company’s TomAzur mini tomatoes, EasyQs snacking cucumbers and a new range of Tribelli peppers with higher disease resistance.
The future of organic production was one of the key topics on the programme. Produce and food marketing consultant David del Pino gave a presentation on the role of technology within the organics sector.
He said it was crucial for companies like Enza Zaden to keep on developing solutions for organic producers through its Vitalis subsidiary, which id dedicated exclusively to research and production of organic seeds.
During the day, participants had the opportunity to sample Tribelli peppers and EasyQs and TomAzur smoothies, take part in a Vitalis organic taste panel and visit the tomato and pepper demonstration greenhouse where Enza Zaden is conducting its latest trials.
