ProEcuador has rolled out a marketing campaign in Russia to position Ecuadorean bananas as a premium fruit.
The initiative is also designed to incentivise the consumption of Ecuadorean bananas in Russia during the summer months, Ecuador’s export promotion institute told Eurofruit.
In-store activities will include an interactive screen display at X5 supermarket stores that will grab the attention of consumers and show various easy recipes for numerous occasions, which can be printed off and taken home.
A special promotional website will also offer information about the origin of Ecuadorean bananas, plus videos, photographs and the chance to win a trip to Ecuador by entering a competition for the best banana desert.
ProEcuador will also be present at a race held in Moscow to spread the message about the nutritional value of bananas and hand out the fruit to competitors at the end of the race.
The organisation will also be participating at a food festival where a chef will prepare dishes using bananas.
