Dole Peel the Love

US banana giant Dole has launched a marketing campaign called 'Peel the Love' as it looks to highlight the fun side of the fruit.

The campaign will include banana recipes, serving suggestions and an enlarged presence on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

'For every banana fan interested in health information, or an elaborate new dinner or dessert recipe, there are many more that eat bananas every day simply because they are quick, easy and fun,' said Bill Goldfield, communications manager for Dole Fresh Fruit.

The group also plans to continue educating registered dieticians, supermarket nutritionists, food bloggers and other influential people about the health, taste and convenience advantages of the fruit through media appearances, tastings and educational summits.

From Memorial Day until Labor Day, Dole will take its 'Peel the Love' tour on the road to banana-loving cities across the country, making visits to schools and food kitchens.

'A brightly coloured 'Peel the Love' food truck, created specifically for the tour and staffed by healthy eating advocates, will stop at supermarkets, parks and other public and private venues to dispense samples, recipes, serving suggestions and fun information,' the company stated in a press release.
