Group says the mango offers “an unparalleled balance of sweetness and creaminess” to global and pan-European supply chains
Dole has launched the Exotic Selection Ataulfo mango to retail, wholesale and foodservice customers across EMEA.
The fresh produce leader called the Ataulfo a ”standout addition” to the Dole Exotic Selection range, highlighting its ”exceptional taste, premium quality, and almost year-round availability”.
”Characterised by its golden-yellow skin, buttery texture, and incredibly sweet flavour, with hints of peach and vanilla, the Ataulfo mango is ripened to perfection for an unparalleled eating experience,” Dole stated.
Sourced from Mexico and Brazil, the variety is tree ripened and ready to eat, assuring consistent quality and freshness, it noted.
“At Dole, we are passionate about bringing the finest exotic fruits to consumers,” explained Oscar Dominguez Donaire, category director exotics EMEA at Dole.
”The Ataulfo mango is a true gem in our portfolio, offering an unparalleled balance of sweetness and creaminess.
”In keeping with our established commitment to ‘quality, quality, quality’, customers can expect consistency and continuity of supply and consumers, a truly exceptional eating experience,” he added.
Available from February to December, the Ataulfo mango will be distributed across Dole’s global and pan-European supply chain network.
The fruit – also known as ’champagne mangoes’ or ’honey mangoes’ due to their taste – should be stored at room temperature for optimal taste and texture, Dole noted.
The variety has a recommended consumption window of 7–10 days after arrival, although shelf-life varies depending on the origin and time of the season.
”Part of our Dole Exotic Selection range, the Ataulfo mango aligns with Dole’s stating goal to ‘raise the bar’ in the exotics category by bringing to market truly exceptional, responsibly sourced exotic fruits across Europe and beyond,” the group noted.
“Certified by GlobalGAP, GRASP, SMETA, LEAF, and the Rainforest Alliance, Dole Exotic Selection Ataulfo mangoes meet the highest industry standards for sustainable and ethical sourcing.
”In the marketplace, the brand will be supported by in-store promotions, sampling, and storytelling campaigns, as we endeavour to inspire and empower consumers to discover the exceptional qualities of this unique mango variety,” Dole added.
