Mexican greenhouse cucumber and pepper producer Divemex has revealed that it has picked up its fourth consecutive Socially Responsible Enterprise Award from the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), in recognition of its socially progressive business practices.
The group, which is based in Guadalajara, is one 67 companies in Mexico to have been handed the award for four consecutive years, selected for strong performances in business ethics, employees' quality of life, care of the environment and contributions to the community.
'This award illustrates Divemex's commitment to doing what is best for our stakeholders just because 'we love what we do' and want to do it better each time,' said Jaime Tamayo, Divemex's operations director.
And Aaron Quon, greenhouse category director for The Oppenheimer Group, added: 'Divemex continues to demonstrate tremendous respect for both ts employees and the surrounding communities. We'd like to congratulate them on receiving this award and feel it is very well deserved.'
Divemex's coloured bell peppers, mini peppers and cucumbers are available in North AMerica from the Vancouver, Canada-based Oppenheimer group.
