Grandin held the position for six years, leading the organisation through a pivotal period that included Covid-19, the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables and the introduction of the AGEC anti-waste law.

Sauvaitre has a wealth of experience within Interfel, having perviously held the positions of secretary general and co-president of the economics commission.

“Happy and enthusiastic about this new challenge at the service of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector with great teams of professionals and collaborators,” he said on LinkedIn. “Apples, pears and now the whole range of fruits and vegetables. Only happiness… and a few snags to sort out.”

The new president will serve a three-year term, with Christian Berthe as vice-president and Alexis Degouy as CEO.

Other appointments finalised at the General Assembly included Jeff Mahintach as secretary general, Sébastien Heraud as deputy secretary general, Christophe Rousse as treasurer, and Bernard Gerin as deputy treasurer.
