Italy's leading organic food retailer, Cuorebio, is planning to promote a national 'Bio per tutti' ('Organic for all') week from Saturday, 2 April 2011, as it looks to encourage a greater number of consumers to shop in a way that is more sustainable and more accessible, particular in terms of price.

During the course of the week-long promotion, all products sold in Cuorebio stores will be eligible for a 10 per cent discount,

'Cuorebio shops are therefore offering consumers another way to choose organic: an immediate and concrete saving, as well as the advantage of products that are free from chemical resiudes and are grown using a method of cultivation that is in tune with natural cycle and respects the environment, animal health and people,' said a spokesperson.

According to figures published by Italian statistical agency Ismea, the organic segment continued to grow in Italy last year, recording its highest annual growth of the past eight years with an 11.6 per cent increase in sales compared with 2009.

Established in 2002 by Ecor, an organic produce distributor based in San Vendemiano north of Venice, Cuorebio brings together a network of member shops which today number more than 280, all of them specialised in selling organic products.
