Crunch Pak, the industry leader in fresh sliced apples, will debut several new products at the PMA Fresh Summit trade show in Atlanta, the US, next month.
Among Crunch Pak’s new debuting products include the low-calorie, single-serve DipperZ, which PMA has selected as a finalist for its 2011 package innovation awards.
The DipperZ offer comes four combinations of sweet or tart apples with caramel dip, sweet apples with chocolate dip and baby peeled carrots with Ranch dip.
Also debuting at PMA will be two new Snackers flavors with granola, peanut butter and yogurt.
Crunch Pak’s booth will this year also feature a new theme “It’s always Crunch Time” to highlight the variety and scope of products available from the company.
The stand will also stage a cooking station staffed by Chef Tim Putnam of Wenatchee, Washington State, and will also feature a dedicated display area for its new co-branded product line with Disney.
“It’s all about new this year at PMA,” said Tony Freytag, vice-president of sales and marketing, in a press release.
“Sales of produce-based snacks are on the rise, and will likely continue to grow along with the emphasis in the US on eating a diet full of fruits and vegetables. We leverage PMA as an opportunity to tell the industry what we’re doing to meet consumer demand.”
Crunch Pak recently added a series of QR (quick response) codes to its packages and will display that technology at the PMA Fresh Summit, as well as its new 30-minute video ‘Evolution of the Apple’ that will play on the booth’s broadcast system.
“Given our new products and growth this year, we knew we wanted to share as much of information with our customers as possible at PMA,” Freytag said.
“We’re excited to play a larger role at such an important gathering of produce industry leaders.”
Crunch Pak has also launched a seasonal fresh-cut offer for the autumn period – Appletizer trays which feature a Halloween-themed label and come in two combinations of fresh cut fruit and dip.
“Halloween is the second biggest holiday for seasonal purchases,” said Freytag. “We saw an opportunity in the party tray category for a fruit -based option and created these seasonal Appletizers to meet the need for fresh, healthy party trays that are portable and convenient.”
