An elite panel of judges has put together this year's Insight NACS International Convenience Retailer of the Year 2010 shortlist, featuring companies from five different countries and four separate continents.
On this year's award shortlist, which was revealed on globalstorefocus.com, are 7-Eleven from Australia, Applegreen and Topaz/Centra from Ireland, Pick n Pay from South Africa, Temma Rewe from Germany and Rutter's Farm Stores in the US.
'I was really impressed with the far reach of where entries came from – Africa to South America to Australia, US and Europe – wow,' said panel member and CBX retail division president Joe Bona. 'It really goes to show how the world of convenience touches us all, no matter where we live.'
Readers of the Global Convenience Store Focus publication will vote for the winner online, with the award presented during the Insight Future of International Convenience Retailing event at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on 21 September.
