Chiquita Hellas, the Greece-based affiliate of Chiquita Brands International which manages the sales and marketing of the company's products in the south-east Mediterranean region, has celebrated the arrival of summer by informing Greek consumers about the nutritional value of bananas and the importance of healthy diets and lifestyles.
As part of the campaign, Chiquita organised two daytime parties at the end of May and in June in each of the cities of Heraclion, Thessaloniki and Larisa.
Company mascot Miss Chiquita was on hand to hand out more than 35,000 bananas and inform consumers about the importance of healthy diets and the nutrition value of bananas.
According to Nikos Stefanidis, brand activation manager at Chiquita Hellas, the level of acceptance and enthusiasm among consumers in each of the three cities was remarkable, the atmosphere buoyed by a resident DJ playing tunes on the deck of Chiquita’s kiosk.
'We are very proud and satisfied by the attendance and acceptance of the public,' said Mr Stefanidis. 'This year, we celebrate the beginning of the summer with street parties in three major cities of Greece in order to inform about the nutrition value of bananas, a healthy snack which provides instant energy to our body each moment of the day, each season of the year. Chiquita believes that healthy diet can be extremely fun.'
