Fruit Logistica, the world's leading trade fair for the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, returns as a physical event in Berlin on 9-11 February 2022, with many of the world’s leading fresh produce companies ready to take part.
In a statement, organiser Messe Berlin said Fruit Logistica would enable the fresh produce business to look to the future, providing “fresh inspiration, the best information, and new business opportunities” that will help the trade grow in the medium and long term.
'The desire for personal encounters at a physical event is immense, especially because it hasn't been possible for so long,” said Kai Mangelberger, acting director of Fruit Logistica.
“We know that some companies have hesitated to sign up. But this reticence has continuously decreased because international conference venues, including Berlin, have shown that physical events are possible again. We are very far along in the planning and have sent the placement suggestions to our exhibitors.”
The number of exhibitors that have signed up for Fruit Logistica 2022 is apparently “close to” that of the last event, with companies from 68 countries already registered.
“Based on the previous registration rate, we're expecting well over 2,000 exhibitors for Fruit Logistica 2022,' Mangelberger noted.
Europe accounts for most of those represented, but there is also a good presence from Central and South America, he added.
Fruit Logistica 2022 will not only be very international, but will also reflect the entire fresh produce value chain across more than 25 halls – from production to point of sale, as well as everything in between.
Big industry names already booked to exhibit include BioTropic, BVEO, Dole, Driscoll’s, Fruit Masters, Fyffes, SanLucar, and Zespri. Alongside these will be key logistics players like Maersk and Ethihad Cargo, major retailer Edeka, machinery and technology specialists Sormac and Greefa, and packaging provider Euro Pool System.
“Over the last 18 months we have learnt that holding international meetings while sitting at the office desk is possible. But we have also learned that nothing can replace the pleasure and the tangibility of holding a face-to-face discussion,” commented Rita Biserni, head of international marketing at Italian exhibitor Alegra.
“We are looking forward to exhibiting at Fruit Logistica as it represents the most complete event in the fruit and vegetables industry worldwide.”
Bert Haffmans, CEO of Dutch exhibitor Sormac, said he was also eager to return to the German capital. “Finally we can meet again face to face at one of the biggest events for fruit and vegetables, Fruit Logistica 2022 in Berlin. Reconnecting the world of freshness. We can’t wait to meet our valued partners and new potentials to show the developments we have been working on the last two years!”
A guide to all exhibitors at Fruit Logistica 2022, including co-exhibitors, will be published on the event’s official website in November.
