The Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is planning a 'Kick Off with Hass Avocados' promotional programme for the coming US sports season.
Television, the internet and social media will all be used as the HAB tries to drum up interest in its eponymous fruit among sports fans.
Jose Luis Obregon, HAB's executive director, said: "Such a big part of sports gatherings centres around food, so it’s a perfect time for us to talk about the versatility and health benefits of fresh Hass avocados, especially given that there is a strong supply of fruit in the market from multiple countries of origin."
Ads on television will highlight Hass avocados’ versatility for game-day entertaining, while recipe cards will feature Hass Avocado Tailgate Tacos and Grilled Avo Bacon Skewers.
The campaign is a joint effort by HAB’s principal member organisations, the California Avocado Commission, the Chilean Avocado Importers Association and the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association.
