Salads

To help its suppliers deal with the crisis currently plaguing salad producers in the southeast of France, retailer Auchan has renewed its commitment with its partners to ensure everyone in the chain receives a fair return, according to a report in Végétable.

The agreement to support salad farmers follows similar commitments made with the milk and pork sectors, with Auchan stating that it wishes to strengthen this system, which benefits ten producers in the southeast of the country, responsible for a combined 6m salads a year.

The deal includes an economic agreement guaranteeing a minimum price, an environmental pillar controlling inputs, the social aspect centring on farm maintenance and the customer side focusing on quality, traceability and innovation.
