London’s Olympia welcomed over 8,000 people on 11-12 April for Europe’s annual trade show for natural and organic products – Natural & Organic Products Europe.
The show’s 500-plus exhibitors were joined by thousands of trade buyers from all over the world, according to organisers, an extremely good turnout given the financial crisis.
Event director Simon Barry commented: 'This was without doubt the most successful Natural & Organic Products Europe to date – an extraordinary achievement considering the current economic climate. The success of the show, in no small measure, is due to the extraordinary efforts our exhibitors put into promoting the event, plus the hugely loyal following we continue to receive from all the key buyers, associations and industry bodies.'
The two-day event included the unveiling of the Soil Association’s latest Organic Market Report, which pointed out that although UK sales of organic products dropped by almost 13 per cent last year, there were clear signs of growing consumer confidence during the early months of 2010.
