San Miguel and Citrusvil have become the first two citrus marketers to adopt the Alimentos Argentinos quality seal.
The announcement was made at AlimentAR, Latin American B2B Expo which took place in Buenos Aires this week.
The label, which is overseen by Argentina’s Ministry of Agroindustry, is given to foods that are produced in compliance with a strict quality and traceability protocols.
It is independently audited by agencies that certify good agricultural practices in the production, packing and shipping process.
“As a global supplier we are used to certifications and audits and already have sophisticated processes and policies in place,” said San Miguel director Lucas Méndez Tronge.
“This seal gives us something extra, because Argentine food has an excellent reputation around the world.”
Citrusvil director Daniel Lucci added that the label underscored the company’s quest for excellence. “Our growth is built on being able to guarantee the quality, safety and traceability of our products,” he noted.
