The organisers of the Spanish marketing campaign for Ambrosia apples are hailing another successful season for one of the country’s most popular club varieties.
“This year the campaign has been shorter but very intense, seeing the best Ambrosia apples grown in Italy offered to Spanish consumers,” they said.
“During all these months an exceptional fruit has arrived at our tables, cultivated with affection and with excellent characteristics.”
Spain is a key strategic market for Piedmont-based group Rivoira and South Tyrolean cooperative VI.P Val Venosta, the two companies that hold the European licence for the club variety.
This season’s campaign, directed at traders and consumers, featured a range of activities throughout Spain to position the variety as a premium offering for the whole family.
This included promotions at DIR gymnasiums in Barcelona, as well as competitions through social media supported by influencers, and tasting in the metro stations of Barcelona and Madrid.
