Spanish retailer Alcampo has announced the launch of a new regional branding promotional campaign for over 120 food items and beverages produced exclusively in the Spanish region of Madrid, including fresh fruits and vegetables.
The two-week drive, which gets underway on 16 June, will take place at 38 of Alcampo’s 49-strong hypermarket store network in Madrid, Galicia, Asturias, La Rioja, Aragón, Valencia, Murcia, Andalucía, Castille-La Mancha and Castille León.
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Consumption in Madrid, the retail initiative aims to raise awareness of over 120 foods and beverages produced exclusively in Madrid, such as Protected Denomination of Origin fruits, vegetables, wines, olives, ham, cheese and confectionery.
In 2007, Alcampo sold €960m worth of products from Madrid across its network of stores, an increase of 10 per cent on the year before.
