French interprofessional association Afidem has chosen to launch a communication campaign aimed at doctors and, through them, the public.
“Eating well in order to remain in good health is a preoccupation for countless French people,” says Afidem. “More than ever, people need personalised advice and people to whom they can pose practical questions.”
According to the association, these are two functions that doctors do better than anyone else. The plan is therefore to provide doctors with all the tools they need to guide their patients on their diets and encourage them to increase their fruit and vegetable consumption.
Afidem plans to target 15,000 doctors and 7,000 specialists, through which it will reach the wider public. By the end of 2009, the association says it hopes to distribute 2,000 blue books, 18,000 posters, 780,000 leaflets and over a million brochures.
